Gibson to Marlies, Matson to Iowa

Orlando, FL - The Orlando Solar Bears, proud affiliate of the NHL's Minnesota Wild and Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL's Iowa Wild and Toronto Marlies, announced today G Christopher Gibson has been recalled to the Toronto Marlies and F Taylor Matson has been recalled to the Iowa Wild.

Matson returns to Iowa after helping the Solar Bears to five straight wins during their recent home stand, collecting nine points on three goals and six assists. He had a three point night last night to help Orlando to a dramatic 5-4 overtime victory, with one goal and two assists. Matson has 23 points (9 goals, 14 assists) in 19 games with the Solar Bears this season. In 29 games with the Iowa Wild, Matson has three goals and one assist for four points.

Gibson returns to Toronto for his second stint this season with Orlando's AHL affiliate. He has played in three games with the Marlies this season, going 2-1-0 with a 1.68 GAA and .946 save percentage. The rookie goaltender has appeared in 18 games with the Solar Bears, picking up a 3.18 GAA, .887 save percentage, and 7-8-2 record.
