Utah Grizzlies News Release

Milwaukee, Wisconsin- The Grizzlies fell behind early on Saturday night in Milwaukee spotting the Admirals a 5-0 lead but battled back to make the game interesting in the second period behind a couple of power play goals by Jeff Taffe but eventually ran out of gas as Milwaukee remained unbeaten in regulation and the Grizzlies remained without victory falling 6-2 in the Bradley Center.

Milwaukee started the scoring on the power play when Tony Hrkac bounced a puck off Jean-Marc Pelletier to Andrew Hutchinson at the side of the net who buried the shot for his first goal of the season. Timofei Shishkanov also drew an assist on the Admirals first goal of the game. Milwaukee would add another goal late in the frame when Simon Gamache would take advantage of a little extra space on the ice in a four-on-four situation and flutter a shot past Pelletier for his second goal of the season. Kevin Klein and Darren Haydar received the assists. Brian Finley made 10 saves in the frame and Pelletier made 15 saves.

The Admirals appeared to be on their way to a lopsided victory after throwing three more goals on the board in the first half of the second period. Hrkac started the barrage with his first goal of the season at the 1:50 mark of the period. Klein would add a goal to go with his assist off a face-off by Haydar at 6:36 giving the Admirals a 4-0 lead. Hutchinson would blast a Shishkanov pass under Pelletier for his second goal of the game making it 5-0 in favor of Milwaukee.

Utah would come back taking advantage of six power plays in the period with Jeff Taffe scoring a pair of man advantage markers. Jon Sim helped on both of Taffe's goals. The first score by Taffe ended a stretch of 157:03 of shutout hockey put up against the Grizzlies and also ended a 0-19 streak on the power play for Utah. The Grizzlies outshot the Admirals 14-13 in the period putting most of those shots up in the periods final six minutes.

The Grizzlies comeback would falter some in the third period as the only goal came from Milwaukee's Jeremy Yablonski, his first of the season. The Grizzlies outshot the Admirals 9-7 in the frame but couldn't muster any other offense.

The Grizzlies face Manitoba on Thursday in Winnipeg at the Winnipeg Arena. Face-off is scheduled for 6:30 PM (MT).
