
Maple Leafs Wellwood Sets Franchise Record for Goals in a Game

Maple Leafs center, Kyle Wellwood, set a new franchise record in tonight's game by scoring five (5) goals in leading the Maple leafs to an 8-3 win over the Cleveland Barons.
Wellwood broke a mark previously set by three other Maple Leafs - Yanic Perreault (November 16, 1991 @ Halifax Citadels), Todd Gillingham (March 15, 1994 @ Fredericton Canadiens) and Kelly Fairchild (December 14, 1994 @ Syracuse Crunch).
The St. John's Maple Leafs next action is next Friday when the club faces the Edmonton Roadrunners at Mile One Stadium. Game time is 7:35pm and will be broadcast on tape delay on Rogers Sportsnet and live on Radio Newfoundland (930AM) and www.sjmapleleafs.ca.
