West Valley City, Utah - The Utah Grizzlies never trailed in the game until the final goal scored in overtime and fell 4-3 to the Victoria Salmon Kings Friday night at the E-Center in front of 5,906 fans in a game that lasted over three hours.

Utah scored the first and only goal in the first period as Travis Rycroft went five-hole on Victoria goaltender Bryan Bridges at the 6:22 mark. The rest of the period was crammed with penalties as 41 total minutes were dished out. Joel Irving was assessed a cross-checking major and a game misconduct ten minutes in.

Matt Craig poked in a rebound off an Andy Sertich shot 2:55 into the second to give the Grizzlies a 2-0 advantage in the game. They held the two-goal lead until Victoria scored on the power-play with just 14 seconds until intermission. Grizzlies player Gordon Burnett was assessed a fighting major and a game misconduct giving Victoria that power-play.

The Salmon Kings scored in the third to tie it, but just 24 seconds later Danny Stewart gave the lead back to the Grizzlies on a penalty shot. This lead lasted until the 14:42 when Victoria scored short-handed to send the game into overtime. Kiel McLeod scored in overtime to give the Salmon Kings a 4-3 win.

Utah netminder Ben Gray stopped 45 of 49 shots he faced in the game.
