Chiefs storm over Toledo 6-1

Johnstown, PA (March 30, 2007) - The Johnstown Chiefs defeated the Toledo Storm by a score of 6-1 at the Cambria County War Memorial in Johsntown, Pennsylvania on Friday night.

Johnstown got on the board early when Gus Katsuras took a pass from Zbynek Hrdel and ripped a wrist shot past Toledo's Logan Koopmans to give the Chiefs a 1-0 lead at 2:10 of the first period. Andrew R. Martin tied the game for Toledo, picking up the rebound of a shot from Mike Walsh at 6:40. Johnstown took a 3-1 lead into the locker room at the end of the first period after Zbynek Hrdel scored on the power-play at 14:46 and John Adams netted a goal on the man-advantage on a cross-ice pass from Marek Kvapil at 18:33.

Johnstown continued to score through the second period, with Ian MacLean picking up his fourth goal of the year at 5:07, getting a feed from Radek Smolenak and snapping a wrist shot past Koopmans at 5:07. Radek Smolenak took a long lead pass on the right wing, deked Koopmans to the ice, and deposited the puck behind him at 8:20. Gus Katsuras picked up his ninth of the season and second of the night on the power play at 19:10.

Johnstown was 3-for-4 on the power play, and Ryan Munce made 24 saves to earn the win.
