McCaffrey Returns to the Rays

North Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays and head coach Jason Fitzsimmons announced today that right winger Cam McCaffrey has been sent back to the Stingrays from the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League.

McCaffrey, 23, played eight games with the Sound Tigers and tallied five points on two goals and two assists. This marked the Calgary, Alberta native's third stint in the AHL of his professional career following a 19 games with the Portland Pirates during the 2004-05 season and three games with the Hershey Bears last season. McCaffrey has now played 30 games up in the AHL.

With the Stingrays, the 6'1", 210-pound McCaffrey has 19 points (11g-8a) in 57 games and 148 penalty minutes. He is expected in the line-up tonight as the Stingrays begin a two-game series with the Augusta Lynx.

In separate transactions, Cail MacLean has been activated off the 3-day injured reserve, Jarrett Konkle has been placed on the 3-day IR, Scott Romfo has been placed on the 7-day IR and Sasha Pokulok has been moved from the 7-day IR to the 30-day IR.
