
Crampton gets call to AHL

Las Vegas, NV- The Las Vegas Wranglers announced today that forward Steve Crampton has signed a 25-game PTO (professional tryout contract) with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League.
Crampton is second on the Las Vegas Wranglers in scoring this season, tying his career-high with 20 goals and adding career-highs for assists (35) and points (55) in 65 games played. In his last ten games played, Crampton has four goals and seven assists for 11 points. The rugged winger was drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft (Round Eight, #248 Overall). This will be Crampton's third trip to the AHL. Last season, the Winnipeg, MAN native had stints with the Lowell Lock Monsters, going scoreless in two games, and the Norfolk Admirals, scoring two goals and adding two assists for four points in seven games played. The second-year Wrangler has played in 119 games for Las Vegas. Over that span, the 24-year old has 40 goals and 64 assists for 104 points, to go along with 264 penalty minutes.
Tonight the Wranglers will host the Alaska Aces at 7:05 pm. The first 2,000 fans to the game receive a Wranglers' playoff puck compliments of Health Plan of Nevada and Southwest Medical Associates. Saturday, March 31st, Las Vegas will host Alaska at 7:05 pm. Before the game, from 4:30 - 6:30 in the concourse of the Orleans Arena, fans may attend the Port of Subs Pre-Game Party.
