Florida Everblades News Release
ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Gerry Fleming announced today that forward Adam Taylor and defenseman Mike Card have been assigned to the roster by the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League.
Taylor returns to the Everblades after seeing action in five games with the Americans following his call-up on March 20. The 22-year-old did not register a point, but collected two penalty minutes in the first AHL stint of his career. Prior to his call up, Taylor had collected 35 points (17g, 18a) in 31 games with the Everblades. The Campbell River, BC native earned ECHL monthly honors as the Player of the Month and Plus-Performer of the Month in February. Overall this season Taylor has 52 points (21g, 31a) in 61 games with Victoria, Pensacola and Florida.
Card joins the Everblades after seeing action in 50 games this season with the Americans where he notched nine points (1g, 8a) and 38 penalty minutes. The former 8th round draft pick by the Buffalo Sabres in 2004 has also skated in four games with the Sabres this season, making his NHL debut on November 11 at Philadelphia.
The Kitchener, Ontario native is in his rookie season, and spent the previous four years playing at the junior level with the Kelowna Rockets of the Western Hockey League. In his four-year stint, Card amassed 147 points (35g, 112a) in 269 career games, and helped lead the Rockets to the WHL playoffs in each of his four years with the club, including helping the team earn the Memorial Cup Championship in 2004-05.
