Utah Grizzlies News Release

Anchorage, Alaska - The Alaska Aces defeated the Utah Grizzlies 5-1 Friday night at the Sullivan Arena.

Alaska built a 2-0 lead in the first 5:16 of the contest before Utah made it 2-1 on a goal from Tom May (4) assisted by Reagan Leslie at 13:11 of the opening frame. Mike Mole made 11-straight saves to finish the period and Utah killed a big penalty to sustain the momentum going into the first intermission with a 2-1 deficit.

However, in the second, Alaska took the momentum back with two early goals to build a 4-1 lead and then added one more in the third and 5-1 would be the final score.

All goals scored in the game were five-on-five.

Mike Mole stopped 29 of 34 in the contest for Utah as he made his eighth-straight start.

The Grizzlies and Alaska meet again in Anchorage Saturday at 9:15 p.m. before wrapping up the three-game series Sunday at 7:05 p.m.

Utah returns to the E-Center to open a five-game home stand Friday, November 21 and Saturday, November 22 hosting Las Vegas in a rematch of last year's conference finals.
