
Ontario swipes win from Condors, 3-2

ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign came from behind for a 3-2 win against the Bakersfield Condors before of 4,504 fans at Citizens Business Bank Arena on Friday night. F Matt Pope and F Matt Caruana both scored their team-leading seventh goals of the season for Bakersfield.
Despite the Condors (3-7-1, 7pts) out-shooting Ontario (7-4-1, 15pts), 15-11, in the first period, neither team lit the lamp, and the game remained scoreless through one. There was only one penalty called on either team in the speedy stanza - a delay of game infraction on Ontario.
The Condors opened the scoring 1:41 into the second period when Pope connected on the power play, flicking a rebound through traffic into the net. However, just 45 seconds later, Ontario tied it, 1-1, with a goal from D David Walker. At 11:44, Caruana (right) put Bakersfield back in the lead, wristing home a shot off a centering pass from LW Mark Derlago, who registered assists on both of Bakersfield's goals. Ontario later had what would have been the game-tying goal disallowed due to LW Chris Curran plowing into G Dave McKee, and the Condors entered the intermission in the lead, 2-1.
Midway through the third period, Ontario capitalized on a pair of man-advantages with two power play goals just 51 seconds apart to take a 3-2 lead. The Condors out-shot Ontario, 14-9, in the third and 39-27 overall, but the Reign held on to win. McKee stopped 24 of 27 shots in the loss.
Notes from the Nest
The Condors three-in-three weekend continues Saturday night with a game against the Fresno Falcons at Selland Arena at 7:35 p.m., and concludes with a match-up against the Stockton Thunder at Stockton Arena on Sunday at 4 p.m.

After two more road games in Phoenix next week on Wednesday and Friday, the Condors return to the Mercy & Memorial Hospitals Home Ice at Rabobank Arena on Saturday, Nov. 22 to host the RoadRunners.
That night, the Oakland Raiderettes come to town, sponsored by KGET-TV 17, 98.5 The Fox and Cal Water. They will perform during the intermissions, sign autographs and pose for pictures in the Condors Photo Booth throughout the night. Doors open at 6 p.m., puck drops at 7 p.m.
Individual game tickets are on sale and may be purchased through the Rabobank Arena Box Office, which is open from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Saturday with extended hours on game days.
