Las Vegas Wranglers News Release
Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers® announced on today that the NHL's Calgary Flames have reassigned center Hugo Carpentier from the Quad City Flames (AHL) to Las Vegas.
The rookie center played in ten games with Quad City this season, posting a goal and two points. Carpentier was drafted by the Calgary Flames in the fourth round (#118 overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. The first-year center played the last four years in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League with the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies. In 257 junior games, the 20-year old scored 81 goals and dished out 123 assists for 204 points. Carpentier made his Las Vegas debut on Friday night.
Las Vegas will host Idaho tonight at 7:30 PM at the Orleans Arena. Tonight's game marks the end of Prostate Cancer Awareness Weekend. The majority of the players have grown mustaches for charity as part of the "Movember" program hosted by the Prostate Cancer Foundation. The Wranglers are proud to partner with Studio Blue, US TOO and the Prostate Cancer Foundation this weekend. The team will wear light blue helmets with the Studio Blue logo throughout the games this weekend. Fans are able to bid on the players' helmets in a silent auction on the concourse at the home games. The auction ends after the second period of tonight's game.
