Utah Grizzlies News Release

West Valley City, Utah - After seeing a 3-0 lead slip away, Ryan Kinasewich's 33rd goal of the season lifted the Grizzlies to a 5-4 overtime victory over the ECHL's West Division leading Alaska Aces Wednesday night at the E-Center.

Matt Craig beat Aces netminder Matt Underhill to give the Grizzlies a short-handed goal less than four minutes into the first period for an early 1-0 lead. At 8:54, Matt Craig struck again, this time on the power-play, to put the Grizzlies on top 2-0. The Grizzlies continued to pour it on as Kris Kasper blasted a slap shot from the slot to extend the lead to 3-0.

The Aces took advantage of a Garett Cameron slashing penalty when Alex Leavitt beat Alfie Michaud at 14:49 of the second, to cut the lead to 3-1 heading into the second intermission.

The Aces chipped the lead to one when Vladimir Novak's shot deflected off of Michaud's glove and into the back of the net at 6:31 of the third. The Aces knotted the game at three a piece when they converted their second power-play chance of the evening thanks to a Mike Scott goal at 9:01. Vladimir Novak made it four unanswered goals for the Aces when he scored his second goal of the evening at the 11:59 mark. Utah finally struck back when Ed Hill, who just returned from a 12-game stint with the AHL's Peoria Rivermen, knotted the score at four, shorthanded again at 16:25 to take the game into overtime.

Just under two minutes into the extra period, Louis Dumont found Ryan Kinasewich camping out in front of the net sealing the comeback victory for the Grizzlies.

Matt Craig (2 goals) and Louis Dumont (2 assists) each had multi-point outings for the Grizzlies.

The Grizzlies (33-24-6) will wrap up their ten-game season series against the Aces, Friday night at the E-Center. Face-off is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
