Campbell Called up to AHL Lowell

The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that forward Jeff Campbell has been recalled to the Lowell Lock Monsters of the American Hockey League.

Assigned to Gwinnett yesterday from Lowell, Campbell posted a goal and collected two assists for the Gladiators in last night's 8-1 win over the Charlotte Checkers. The goal was Campbell's 30th of the season and his two assists pushed him to 50 on the year.

The Hensall, Ontario native appeared in three games with the Lock Monsters during his first stint in the AHL where he picked up an assist and a +1 rating.

Campbell currently leads the Gladiators in scoring with 80 points off of 30 goals and 50 assists in 59 games this season for the Gladiators. Campbell also leads Gwinnett in shorthanded goals with 5 while his 7 game winning goals is tops on the Gladiators.

Campbell represented the Gladiators in the past two ECHL All Star Games posting an assist in the 2005 game in Reading, Pennsylvania while he collected a goal and two assists in the 2006 game in Fresno, California.

Campbell played four seasons at Western Michigan University before turning pro last season. He collected 65 goals in 149 collegiate games for the Broncos.

Campbell should be available for the Lock Monsters for their 7:35 p.m. tilt tomorrow night against the Providence Bruins.

The Gwinnett Gladiators, who have already clinched a 2006 Kelly Cup Playoff berth, continue the 2005-06 ECHL season at the Arena at Gwinnett Center on Friday, March 24th as they host the Pensacola Ice Pilots at 7:35 p.m. The Gladiators offer several ticket packages for different needs as well as group outings, suites and birthday parties.
