Ryan Turek scored the game-winning goal 3:15 into the third period as he ripped home a shot from the point. The Grizzlies were shorthanded for four minutes in a 4:24 stretch in the game's final 7:49 but held on. Jimmy Spratt stopped 13 third period shots,

Kory Falite got the scoring started just 40 seconds into the first period as he hammered home a rebound on a Dave Strathman shot. The goal was the earliest to start a game for Utah this year. After Idaho tied it on a power-play goal, Falite struck again as he hammered in another lose puck to give Utah a 2-1 lead at 15:29 of the opening frame. 22 first period shots by the Grizzlies was the most by Utah in a period this season.
