February 24, 2012 - ECHL (ECHL)
Chicago Express News Release
Preview: Chicago Express (23-21-6-2, 54pts) at Kalamazoo Wings (30-17-2-4, 66pts)
When: Puck drops at 6:30 pm
Where: Wings Stadium, Kalamazoo, MI
Tonight's Matchup:
The Express and the Wings go at it again, as Chicago heads back to Kalamazoo tonight. Chicago snapped a five-game winless streak on Sunday at Wings Stadium, which was also their first win in Kalamazoo this season. The Wings have hit the ice once since the last meeting as they collected a 3-1 win over the Toledo Walleye on Wednesday. This game marks the first of three straight games on the weekend for Chicago, as they return home to take on the Florida Everblades in two straight matchups tomorrow and Sunday. Kalamazoo has been good of late, collecting a 6-3-0-1 record in their last 10 games.
Express Notes:
Chicago is 8-0-0-0 on the road when leading after the first period... G Peter Mannino stopped a penalty shot in the second period on Sunday, preserving a two goal lead, at the time, for the Express. It was the third penalty shot he has faced this season, and he has stopped two of those three shots... RW Tyler Donati has recorded 18 multiple point games, including one goal and two assists on Sunday, for the Express this season, and nine of those have been three or more point performances. He continues to hold the Express record for most points in a game, when he had five (1g,4a) on February 2 in Trenton.
Recent Transactions:
G Allen York was reassigned to the Express from Columbus (NHL) yesterday... G Tom Schaul was released as an Emergency Backup Goaltender yesterday... C Anthony Romano was returned to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on Monday... F Ryley Grantham was acquired by Chicago in exchange for D Josh Burrows on Saturday.
