
Express Get Allen York Back from Columbus

Hoffman Estates, IL - The Chicago Express, proud member of the ECHL and proud affiliate of the NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets, announced today that goaltender Allen York has been assigned to the Chicago Express by the Columbus Blue Jackets of the National Hockey League.
York returns to the Express after being recalled straight from Chicago to Columbus on February 10. He played 24:30 of action this past Saturday, February 18, against the Chicago Blackhawks after relieving starting goaltender Steve Mason. York turned aside six of the eight shots he faced in the game. The game marked the fifth time the 6-3, 188 pound goaltender has appeared for the Blue Jackets, including a start against the Blackhawks at the United Center on October 29. In his five NHL games, the rookie goalie has a .860 save percentage and 3.78 GAA.
The Westaskiwin, Alberta, native has appeared in nine games with the Express this season, recording a 3.62 GAA, .888 save percentage, and 4-3-1-0 record. He made his Express debut against the Cincinnati Cyclones on November 19, stopping 38 of 39 shots as Chicago collected a 2-1 win over the Cyclones. Currently in his rookie season, York as played in three different leagues, as he has also played five games for the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League this year.
The Express return to the Sears Centre Arena on Saturday, February 25, and Sunday, February 26, both against the Florida Everblades. Saturday is Athletico Night at the Sears Centre Arena, and on Sunday, all fans in attendance are invited to skate with the team after the game.
