Grizzlies Battle Back Down 6-3 In Third; Take Point In Shootout Loss

Ontario, California - The Utah Grizzlies (15-14-4-4) battled back from a 6-3 third period deficit to collect a point but fell 7-6 in a shootout to Ontario Saturday night at Citizens Business Bank Arena.

The Grizzlies, who went past regulation for the eighth time in the last 13 games, go into the all-star break with a record of 7-3-3-3 in their last 16 contests. Ryan Kinasewich led Utah with two goals and one assist to run his scoring streak to five games with four goals and ten assists.

Utah led 1-0 and 3-2 before the Reign scored four-straight goals from 18:42 of the second period to 7:11 of the third to build a 6-3 lead.

The Grizzlies then countered with three goals in 4 minutes and 27 seconds to tie with Mike Walsh nodding the game up at 6 with 7:01 left in regulation.

In total, Jon Gleed, Tom May and Evan Kotsopoulos also tallied goals for the Grizzlies in the game. Scott Thauwald had two assists.

Mike Mole stopped 25 of 31 in the contest.

Utah returns home to the E-Center Friday, January 23; Saturday, January 24 and Sunday, January 25 to host Idaho. Face-off the first two nights will be at 7:05 p.m., with a special 5:05 p.m. face-off on January 25.
