
Bombers Drop Final Game Of Eastern Trip 2-1 At Johnstown

JOHNSTOWN, PA -- The Dayton Bombers fall in the final game of a four-game road trip, 2-1 at Johnstown Saturday night.
After a scoreless first, Johnstown got on the board at 15:14 of the second on a Sean Berkstresser goal, followed 58 seconds later by a Mike Sgroi tally to make it 2-0.
The Bombers' lone goal came at 5:16 of the second as Ryan Smyth put home a short-handed goal with assists to Mike McLean and Joe Van Culin. The Bombers could not get another despite pulling goalie Tyler Plante late on a power play opportunity.
The final was 2-1 as the Bombers lose the last three of the trip.
Goalie Tyler Plante saved 23 of 25, including several spectacular saves in the first period.
The Bombers are off for the ECHL All-Star break until Friday when they play at Cincinnati. Game time is 7:30 and can be heard on 980 WONE and the B-2 Networks beginning at 7:15 p.m.
