Grizz' Michaud Goaltender of the Week

West Valley City, Utah - The ECHL announced today that Utah goaltender Alfie Michaud (MEE-show) has been named the league's Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week.

Michaud led the Grizzlies to a perfect 3-0 record over the weekend in California, finishing the week with a 0.67 GAA, a save percentage of .975 and one shutout.

Friday night in Fresno, Michaud stopped 27 of 28 shots from the Falcons, in Utah's 4-1 victory. In Long Beach Saturday, Michaud turned away 33 of 34 Ice Dogs attempts as the Grizzlies won, 5-1. The Ice Dogs' only goal came on a three-on-five shorthanded situation. Wrapping up the three-game-in-three-night set Sunday, Michaud recorded his first shutout of the year as the Grizzlies won 2-0 over Long Beach.

The ECHL's 2002-2003 Goaltender of the Year currently has a personal six-game winning streak and leads the ECHL with seven wins. During his current streak, Michaud has a 1.32 GAA and a .953 save percentage.

The Grizzlies, with a record of 8-3 are currently tied with Idaho atop the ECHL's West Division, and return home Friday and Saturday to host Phoenix at the E-Center. Friday is "Family Feast Night" with selected concession items on sale for $1.
