(TRENTON, NJ - November 15, 2005) Global Spectrum, operators of Sovereign Bank Arena, is gearing up for an event-full week, featuring eight events in eight days at the 10,000-seat multipurpose sports and entertainment venue in Mercer County, NJ, from Wednesday, November 16 through Tuesday, November 22.
The 'event-full' eight-day schedule includes three Trenton Titans hockey games, a performance by Keith Urban, two days of cheerleading competitions, two sold out Bruce Springsteen shows, and a very special visit by "Lord Stanley," himself.
During the "Crazy Eight" days The Titans will face-off against the South Carolina Sting Rays on Wednesday, November 16 at 7 p.m.; the Wheeling Nailers on Friday, November 18 at 7:30 p.m.; and the Johnstown Chiefs on Wednesday, November 23 at 7 p.m.
Hockey's most coveted trophy, the Stanley Cup, will visit the Sovereign Bank Arena on Friday, November 18, when the Titans host the Nailers. The Stanley Cup will be touring to the cities of 20 ECHL teams between October 26 and December 17 to help raise money for hurricane relief efforts. The Titans will also be giving away a commemorative Kelly Cup Championship Puck courtesy of McIntosh Inn to all fans on the same night.
Keith Urban will be bringing a little bit of country to Trenton, NJ with his Alive In '05 Tour on Thursday, November 17 at 7:30 p.m. Urban won the Country Music Association's prestigious Horizon Award in 2001, as well as the Top New Male Vocalist Award at the 2001 Academy of Country Music Awards. As if that wasn't enough, his highflying instrumental performance on "Rollercoaster" was nominated for a Grammy Award. Little Big Town will open up the show. Tickets at $38.50 and $42.50 are available now.
The Eastern Regional Cheerleading Championships tumbles into town on Saturday, November 19 and Sunday, November 20. Both days the cheering will begin at 8 a.m. A total of 244 cheer and dance teams, ranging from novice to advanced, will compete throughout the two days. Tickets at $25 are available now.
Springsteen returns to his home state of New Jersey for two sold out shows in Trenton on Monday, November 21 and Tuesday, November 22, both at 8 p.m. Springsteen's first show sold out in 45 minutes, which brought on the addition of the second show. With ever changing set lists and a seemingly inexhaustible repertoire, the performances have functioned as an acoustic retrospective of Springsteen's entire career.
