
Grizzlies' Michaud Named Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender Of The Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Alfie Michaud of the Utah Grizzlies is the Reebok
Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for November 7-13.
The 29-year-old Michaud went 3-0-0 on the road with a 0.66 goals-against
average and .975 save percentage, including his 17th professional shutout,
helping the Grizzlies extend their winning streak to six games.
Entering his fourth ECHL season with Utah, Michaud made 26 saves as the
Grizzlies defeated the Pacific division leading Fresno Falcons on November
11. Michaud would follow that up stopping 33 of 34 shots in a 5-1 win at
Long Beach. Making his third straight start in as many nights, Michaud
stopped all 21 shots for his first shutout of the season in a 2-0 win over
the Ice Dogs on November 13.
The 5-foot-10 and 177-pound netminder is 7-2-0 on the season, leading the
ECHL in wins and has made seven consecutive appearances for the Grizzlies.
He has won the last six and has posted a 0.99 goals-against average and
.965 save percentage in his last five games.
Prior to joining Utah, Michaud spent two seasons with Peoria of the ECHL,
going 27-13-5 with a 2.04 goals-against average and .929 save percentage
and a league-leading six shutouts in 2004-05. In 2002-03 he was named ECHL
goaltender of the year, posting a record of 20-4-4 and leading the league
with a 2.10 goals-against average and recording a .927 save percentage.
The native of Selkirk, Manitoba has played with Reading and has appeared
in 72 games with Syracuse, Manitoba and Worcester of the American Hockey
League with a career record of 28-27-6 and a 2.68 goals-against average.
He also played three years for the University of Maine where he won the
NCAA National Championship in 1998-99, going 28-6-3 with a 2.32
goals-against average.

(2-0-1, 2.00 GAA, .932 save pct.).
