Griffins Sign Flint's Top Goal Scorer

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Grand Rapids Griffins on Wednesday signed left wing Josef Fojtik (YOH-sehf FOY-tehk) to a professional tryout.

Fojtik, 23, is playing his first professional season in North America. He currently leads the Flint Generals and ranks among the IHL's leaders with 20 goals (T4th), 16 even-strength goals (2nd) and a 0.204 shooting percentage (3rd) through 40 games. Fojtik has also contributed 10 assists, four power play goals and a plus-10 rating.

A native of Ostrava, Czech Republic, Fojtik will be available to make his AHL debut on Thursday when the Griffins travel to Peoria to take on the Rivermen at 8 p.m. EST.
