
Marlies Recall Doig and Tsimikalis From Columbia

Mike Penny, General Manager of the Toronto Marlies, announced Wednesday that the Marlies have recalled forwards Tyler Doig and Peter Tsimikalis from the ECHL's Columbia Inferno.
Doig, 21, posted an assist in two games with the Marlies in his first recall this season from January 25 - 28. The Seaforth, Ontario native has skated in 38 games for Columbia, recording 29 points (seven goals, 22 assists) and a plus-six rating. The 6'0, 180-pound forward is fourth on the Inferno in points this season and second in assists. Doig played in the ECHL's All-Star Game on January 23, 2008 and registered an assist for the American Conference.
Tsimikalis, a native of Toronto, Ontario, has played in 40 games this season for the Inferno, tallying 27 points (nine goals, 18 assists). The 6'1, 195-pound centre registered three points (one goal, two assists) in his last game on January 26 versus the Charlotte Checkers. On October 31, 2007, Tsimikalis recorded a career-high five points (two goals, three assists) against the South Carolina Stingrays. He has recorded eight points (four goals, four assists) in 30 career AHL games with Albany and Bridgeport.
The Marlies travel to Rochester on Friday evening to take on the Americans - AHL affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres and Florida Panthers - at Blue Cross Arena with puck drop scheduled for 7:35 p.m. The Marlies will return to Ricoh Coliseum Saturday, February 2 to host Rochester for a 4 p.m. match-up.
