This Friday, the Pirates look to extend their winning streak to three games as they take on the Manchester Monarchs (Los Angeles Kings) at 7:05 p.m. The first 1,500 fans will receive a drawstring backpack courtesy of Unum. On Saturday night, Hockey Night in Portland, it's a battle of the top two teams in the Eastern Conferece as the Pirates host the Providence Bruins (Boston Bruins). The Bruins are in first place in both the Eastern Conference and Atlantic Division with 71 points. The Pirates are just 8 points behind Providence and are second in both the Eastern Conference and Atlantic Division.

Saturday is Positive 89.3 Night with the Portland Pirates Foundation, featuring RUSH OF FOOLS in a pre-game concert. Special discount tickets are available only through Positive 89.3 by calling 800-434-3448 or online at www.positive.fm. The pre-game concert begins at 4:00 PM. Doors will open at 3:15 PM. As part of Coast 93.1's "Date a Pirate," Portland Pirates defensman Brendan Mikkelson will be on the Coast 93.1 morning show at 7:30 a.m. with Tim and Eva to choose his date to the 9th Annual Evening with the Pirates presented by Ameriprise at the Holiday Inn by the Bay on March 4th.

Saturday and Sunday, February 2-3

The 2nd annual New England Pond Hockey Festival will be held on Haley Pond in downtown Rangeley, Maine. 20 teams and 120 players will play a round robin schedule on Saturday, with an 8 team championship round and a consolation round to be held on Sunday morning. The Portland Pirates Foundation is pleased to announce the 2008 Evening with the Pirates - A Night of Grog, Grub & Games presented by Ameriprise Financial.
