Canucks recall Bourdon, Brown, Jaffray

The Vancouver Canucks, the NHL affiliate of the Manitoba Moose, announced they have recalled defenceman Luc Bourdon, right winger Mike Brown, and left winger Jason Jaffray from Manitoba.

Bourdon, 21, appeared in nine games with the Canucks in his first recall from the Moose on Nov. 2/07. He scored his first-ever NHL goal on Nov. 16/07 vs. Minnesota. So far this season, the Shippigan, NB native has appeared in 34 games with the Moose where he's scored six goals and six assists for 12 points, as well as 64 penalty minutes. Last season, Bourdon played in nine regular-season games with the Canucks where he collected four penalty minutes, as well as five playoff games with the Moose, where he earned two penalty minutes. Bourdon was originally drafted by Vancouver in the first round, 10th overall, in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.

Brown, 22, made his NHL debut Nov. 21/07 and scored his first NHL goal Dec. 2/07, both at Minnesota, bringing his NHL total to one goal and 51 penalty minutes in 17 games with the Canucks. The Northbrook, IL native scored two goals and three points, as well as 102 penalty minutes in 21 games with Manitoba this season. Brown was originally Vancouver's fifth choice, 159th overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.

Jaffray, 26, has appeared in 14 games this season with the Canucks. After being recalled by Vancouver for the first time Dec. 11/07, the Olds, AB native scored his first career NHL goal (game-winner) and first NHL assist in his very first NHL game at Anaheim Dec. 12/07. In 14 games with Vancouver, Jaffray tallied two goals and three assists for five points and 17 penalty minutes. In 26 games with the Moose this year, he is currently third in scoring on the Moose with 13 goals and 14 assists for 27 points.
