Gregg Naumenko Released From PTO

BRIDGEPORT, CT - The American Hockey League's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, top affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, have released goaltender Gregg Naumenko from his professional tryout contract. Naumenko was released after netminder Frederic Cloutier returned to the Sound Tigers from the Islanders on Thursday.

Naumenko signed with the Sound Tigers on Friday, January 6th and dressed as the backup to Cody Rudkowsky in three games. He returns to the ECHL's Dayton Bombers for whom he is 2-3 with a 3.35 goals against average and .896 save percentage in five games this season. Naumenko was also 6-3 with a 3.04 goals against average and .892 save percentage in ten AHL games this season split between the Chicago Wolves and Portland Pirates.

Unbeaten-in-regulation in their last nine games at 7-0-0-2, the Sound Tigers will visit the Binghamton Senators tonight at 7:05 p.m. and the Lowell Lock Monsters tomorrow, Sunday, January 15th, at 4:05 p.m. They will return home to host the Norfolk Admirals this Monday at 1:05 p.m. on "State Employees Day" with free admission for all State of Connecticut employees who show valid identification at Bridgeport's Arena at Harbor Yard box office.
