DES MOINES, IA - The Iowa Stars and the Cleveland Barons met for the final time during the regular season Saturday night at Wells Fargo Arena. A goal in the last :15 seconds of the third period, gave the Barons a 2-1 victory over Iowa.
Right Wing David Oliver registered the lone Stars goal at 9:05 of the first period. Tonight's game was Oliver's first game back after missing 10 games with an injury.
Josh Hennessy tied the game at one at 12:24 of the second period. Steve Bernier gave the visitors the 2-1 win when he was credited with the game-winner at 15.1 seconds left in the third.
Junior Lessard, the reigning AHL Player of the Week, had his five-game point-streak snapped. Lessard had posted three goals and four assists in the Stars last five contests.
Goalie Mike Smith faced 22 shots in the loss.
Attendance was 6,131. Power-play chances: IOWA: 1 for 5; CLEVELAND: 0 for 2
NEXT THREE GAMES: The Iowa Stars travel to Grand Rapids for a Thursday night game against the Griffins. Iowa then returns home for the first two games of a five-game home-stand.
