GreenJackets Unveil 2016 Season Schedule

AUGUSTA, GA: The Augusta GreenJackets, South Atlantic League affiliate of the 2014 World Series Champion San Francisco Giants, are excited to announce their 2016 regular season schedule. The schedule consists of 140 games, 70 of which will be played at Lake Olmstead Stadium. Opening Night in Augusta will be Thursday, April 14th against the Charleston RiverDogs (NY Yankees).
The 2016 season begins with road trips to Rome, GA and Lexington, KY from April 7th to April 13th. The GreenJackets will host nine Monday games, nine Tuesday games, nine Wednesday games, 11 Thursday games, 11 Friday games, 11 Saturday games, and 10 Sunday games. Game times will be announced by the GreenJackets at a later date.
"This is always an exciting time of year as the playoff action heats up and we turn the page towards next season," stated GreenJackets General Manager Tom Denlinger. "The front office staff is diligently working to put together 70 exciting promotional nights in for 2016 that you won't want to miss."
Highlighting the 2016 schedule will be home games on Father's Day (June 19th), Independence Day (July 4th), and Labor Day (September 5th). As was the case in the 2015 season, the GreenJackets will host 12 of the 13 possible South Atlantic League opponents at Lake Olmstead Stadium (in 2015, the Greensboro Grasshoppers
will not visit). Notable on the schedule is the first visit to Augusta by the Columbia (SC) Fireflies (NY Mets) on June 6-8.
The full promotional calendar, including post-game fireworks shows, giveaways, touring entertainment acts and theme programs, will be released by the GreenJackets at a future date.
