
Grasshoppers Take Down the Dash, 13-2 in First Game of Home Series

GREENSBORO, NC - the Greensboro Grasshoppers take down the Winston-Salem Dash, 13-2 on Tuesday, July 25. The Grasshoppers improved to 9-15 in the second half of the season while the Dash fell to 9-15. Greensboro outhit Winston-Salem 11-7 as the Dash had two mishaps.
Leading at the dish for Greensboro was designated hitter Josiah Sightler as he went 2-4 with one home run, two RBI, and two runs scored. Will Matthiessen also tallied a home run for the Hoppers while Francisco Acuna and Tres Gonzalez each recorded a double.
Starting on the mound for his Grasshoppers debut, was righthanded pitcher Derek Diamond who tallied four strikeouts and gave up six hits and two runs on six innings of work. Diamond recorded the win for Greensboro for his first.
Dylan Burns took the loss for the Dash and fell to 2-3 on the season.
