Rio Rancho, New Mexico - The Amarillo Gorillas 2007-2008 season came to an end on Saturday night, as they lost a heartbreaker to the New Mexico Scorpions by a final score of 5-4. Amarillo finished the season with a record of 22-32-10, giving them 54 points on the season. The Gorillas will not be in the playoffs for the first time in the franchise's six year existence.

New Mexico would take the lead in the first period off an Aaron MacInnis power-play goal at 6:54, and took a 1-0 lead into the intermission after out-shooting the Gorillas 19-6 in the period. Early in the third, the Scorpions would tie the game up off Chris Macdonald's goal at 3:24, setting the stage for an exciting back-and-forth period of hockey.
