NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (March 22)- There is a silver lining to every bad situation, in the Texas Brahmas case, it comes in a playoff berth after a 4-1 loss to the Austin Ice Bats in their last regular season game.

It was all about scoring in the second period as the Ice Bats scored three goals within an eight minute span, including a short handed goal on Brahmas goaltender David Cacciola. Mike Bartlett, Brendan Cook and R.G. Flath were all credited with the Austin scoring.

Texas had a goal of their own in the second, but it wasn't just any goal, it was forward Scott Sheppard's 100th CHL career goal. Justin Kinnunen and Blair Manning assisted on the milestone goal.

Austin added one more goal in the final period to give the Ice Bats a 4-1 victory and goaltender Miguel Beaudry's 22nd win of the season. Cacciola stopped 23/27 shots for his first loss in eight games.

The Brahmas now head into the postseason for the first time since the 2001-02 season. For playoff ticket information please contact the Brahmas Box Office at (817) 336-4423.
