Gordon, Aucoin lead Bears to 5-1 win Saturday

Continuing a big offensive weekend, HERSHEY scored two goals in the first period and three more in the third to win big over Rochester 5-1 Saturday night at Giant Center.

Much like the night before, HERSHEY came out flying, scoring twice on 14 shots on goal. Patrick McNeill picked up his first goal of the season at 9:33 of the first, and Keith Aucoin potted his 12th of the year before first intermission. With a 14-9 shot advantage after one, the BEARS took a 2-0 lead to the dressing room. Rochester would get one back and score the only goal of the second period when Amerks defenseman Brian O'Hanley scored his first of the season 5:26 of the middle frame.

Heading to the third period with a one goal lead, HERSHEY would put the game on ice by scoring three unanswered goals to close it out. Andrew Gordon, who was named the game's number one star, scored his 19th of the season to increase the lead to 3-1 at the 4:05 mark. Brian Willsie then chipped in his 16th of the year at 7:52, and Ashton Rome wrapped up the scoring parade with his seventh of the campaign at 11:47. Dany Sabourin earned his second home win in as many days, making 25 saves. The victory was HERSHEY'S 25th of the season. Through two games on the homestand, HERSHEY has outscored its opposition 13-4.
