
Rivermen Add Jake Gannon to PTO

Peoria Rivermen General Manager Kevin McDonald announced today that the club has signed defenseman Jake Gannon to a professional tryout contract (PTO). He is expected to join the Rivermen in time for this afternoon's game in Toronto.
Gannon, 23, appeared in 15 games with the Rivermen between he was signed on Nov. 5 and Dec. 8. He registered one assist and skated to a plus-four rating in his time with the club. He has spent the rest of the season with the ECHL Utah Grizzlies, where he serves as the team captain, and collected seven points (one goal, six assists) in his 10 games.
On Thursday, the ECHL announced that Gannon had been named an alternate captain for the ECHL All-Star Classic which will take place on Wednesday in Bakersfield, Calif.
Last season, Gannon also split time between the AHL and ECHL. Under contract with the New York Islanders, he appeared in 26 games for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers (AHL) where he had two goals and two assists. In 38 games with the Grizzlies he collected six points (two goals, four assists).
