Anaheim Recalls Timo Pielmeier and Reassigns Marco Cousineau to Syracuse

Syracuse, NY - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Anaheim Ducks have recalled goaltender Timo Pielmeier and reassigned goaltender Marco Cousineau to Syracuse from Elmira (ECHL).

Pielmeier, 21, has appeared in 25 games for the Crunch this season, going 10-12-1 with a 3.25 goals against average and .904 save percentage. After making his AHL debut on October 8 at Lake Erie, Pielmeier went on to win three straight games from October 16 - 23 and finished the month of October with a 4-2-0 record, 2.18 goals against average and .937 save percentage. In addition, Pielmeier had an impressive 45-save performance in a 4-2 win at Hershey on December 31.

A native of Deggendorf, Germany, Pielmeier spent last season with the ECHL's Bakersfield Condors, where he went 27-22-5 with a 3.29 goals against average and .883 save percentage and participated in the 2010 ECHL All-Star Game. He was acquired by Anaheim along with Nick Bonino from San Jose in exchange for Kent Huskins and Travis Moen on March 4, 2009.

Cousineau, 21, has appeared in 24 games with Elmira this season, going 12-7-4 with a 3.37 goals against average and .891 save percentage. Prior to turning pro, Cousineau spent four seasons in the QMJHL from 2006-10 with Baie-Comeau, Drummondville, Prince Edward Island and Saint John. A native of St. Lazare, Quebec, Cousineau was selected by Anaheim in the third round, 83rd overall, in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.

The Crunch continue their five-game home stand on Saturday, January 22 vs. Norfolk at 7:30 p.m. at The Oncenter War Memorial Arena.
