
Goodwin Homers Twice in T-Bones' Win over Sox

AMARILLO, Texas -The Kansas City T-Bones received timely hitting Thursday night in Amarillo as they won their fourth consecutive game with an 11-7 final over the Sox.
Kansas City, trailing 4-1 in the top of the fifth inning, got its first clutch hit of the night when Anthony Davis, with the bases loaded, smacked a two-run single to right. Kyle Nichols and Jairo Perez followed with RBI hits that gave the T-Bones a 5-4 lead.
The timely hitting continued as Devin Goodwin pounded home runs in the sixth and eighth innings, giving him 12 on the season. Goodwin ended the night two for five with three runs scored and five RBIs.
Amarillo battled back in the eighth inning, scoring three runs off Jose Jimenez before Sean Toler came in and salvaged Kansas City's 11-7 lead.
Kansas City starter Dustin Loggins (3-3) battled through the first three innings before settling down and striking out four of the final six he faced, as he went five innings. Loggins allowed four runs on nine hits all coming in the first two innings.
The win gives Kansas City its longest winning streak in 367 days. The T-Bones won four straight during July 12-16, 2012, before losing on July 17 to Sioux City.
Kansas City (23-36) and Amarillo (31-24) are scheduled to continue their four-game series on Friday night with a 7:05 start.
