Syracuse Mets News Release

The Syracuse Chiefs are pleased to announce the return of Re-Opening Day, Saturday, June 20th at NBT Bank Stadium. Re-Opening Day, sponsored by NBT Bank, will include special autograph signings from Dwight Gooden & Lenny Dykstra, postgame fireworks and more, with the Chiefs playing the Buffalo Bisons at 7:05 p.m.

"Our goal with Re-Opening Day is to capture the excitement of Opening Day when the weather is better and the kids are out of school", said general manager Jason Smorol. "This year, we had one of the greatest Opening Days in the history of the Syracuse Chiefs - so let's match the excitement and pack the house on Saturday!"

Gates will open two hours early at 5 p.m. on Re-Opening Day for an autograph session with Dwight "Doc" Gooden and Lenny Dykstra, two members of the World-Series winning 1986 New York Mets. Gooden and Dykstra will sign autographs on the stadium concourse from 5 to 7 p.m., with no restrictions on memorabilia to be signed. Gooden, a right-handed pitcher, is a four-time All-Star, a National League Cy Young Award winner and a three-time World Series champion. Dykstra, an outfielder with the Mets and Phillies, was named to the All-Star team three times in his Major-League career. He is also the father of Chiefs second baseman Cutter Dykstra. The autograph signing will be jointly presented by McNeil & Co. and Delta Sonic.

The first 1,500 fans at Re-Opening Day will receive a batting helmet mini-bank, courtesy of the game's sponsor, NBT Bank. NBT Bank will also present a postgame fireworks show as part of the Chiefs' "Super Saturday" promotion.

Tickets for Re-Opening Day and all other Chiefs games are available and can purchased online at syracusechiefs.com, by calling 315-474-7833 or by visiting the NBT Bank Stadium ticket office during regular business hours.
