WINNIPEG - Winnipeg Goldeyes manager Rick Forney announced today the signing of outfielder Fehlandt Lentini.

Lentini, 33, returns to Winnipeg where he played from 2006-2008. Over those three seasons, he posted a .315 batting average and a team record 95 doubles, which is tied with Max Poulin. He also is second all-time in Goldeyes history with 28 triples, six behind Poulin. In addition to the career totals, Lentini has the Goldeyes single-season records for at-bats (420), runs (93), triples (13) and stolen bases (57).

In his 11th professional season, Lentini played in the Golden Baseball League for the 2009 and 2010 seasons before joining the Amarillo Sox this year. In 71 games with Amarillo this season, Lentini hit .324 with four home runs, 56 RBI and 21 stolen bases.

A product of Santa Rose, California, Lentini was signed as a free agent by the Houston Astros in 2001 and played for three years in their system, reaching Double-A Round Rock of the Texas League in 2003.

The Goldeyes have also placed outfielder Justin Justice on the inactive list with a hamstring injury.

Winnipeg has 21 players on its active roster, including 11 pitchers and 10 position players.

The Goldeyes continue a four-game series with the Sioux Falls Pheasants tonight at Shaw Park. Game time is 7 p.m.
