
Goldeyes Sign Lefty Woods

Winnipeg Goldeyes manager Rick Forney announced today the signing of left-handed pitcher James Woods to a contract for the 2015 season.
Woods, 24, started the season in the Frontier League with the Joliet Slammers. Last year in the Frontier League with the Southern Illinois Miners, Woods went 1-0 with a 1.54 ERA in 24 games and 23 1/3 innings pitched. He averaged 10 strikeouts for every nine innings pitched.
The Goldeyes have 22 players on their active roster, including 12 pitchers and 10 position players.
The Goldeyes begin a six-game road trip tonight at Haymarket Park with the first of three games against the Lincoln Saltdogs.
Tonight's broadcast on Jewel 100.5 FM with Steve Schuster begins at 6:00 p.m. with the pre-game show. Game time is 6:30 p.m.
