Cowgill Activated, Cornelius Retires

Winnipeg Goldeyes manager Rick Forney announced today that right-handed pitcher Coby Cowgill has been activated from the disabled list and left-handed pitcher Jonathan Cornelius has been placed on irrevocable waivers for the purpose of granting his released. Cornelius has elected to retire from professional baseball.

The Goldeyes have 21 players on their active roster, including 11 pitchers and 10 position players.

Cowgill has been on the disabled list since the start of the season, but will make his season debut tonight as Winnipeg's starting pitcher against the Lincoln Saltdogs. The Goldeyes begin a six-game road trip tonight at Haymarket Park with the first of three games against the Saltdogs.

Tonight's broadcast on Jewel 100.5 FM with Steve Schuster begins at 6:00 p.m. with the pre-game show. Game time is 6:30 p.m.

The Goldeyes will return home on Monday, June 15 to play host to the first-place St. Paul Saints.
