Atlanta Gladiators News Release

Tying a Record: Jeff Campbell collected 4 assists on Friday night to tie a Gladiators record for most assists in a single game. The record is also a season high for the Gladiators during each of the teams' first four seasons. Rick Emmett had four assists during the 2003-04 season while Kris Goodjohn notched 4 helpers during the 2004-05 season. Brad Schell posted 4 assists twice during the 2005-06 season while four players had four assists last year for the Gladiators.

Gladiators' all-time assist list. With his four helpers on Friday night and two more on Saturday night, Jeff Campbell only needs 5 to move into second place all time on the Gladiators for most assists in a Gwinnett career. Campbell collected a career-high 53 assists in 62 games for the Gladiators during the 2005-2006 season and had 13 in only 11 games last season before being called up to Grand Rapids of the AHL.

Leading the League: With 4 assists in Friday night's 5-3 win over the Pensacola Ice Pilots, and two more helpers on Saturday night Jeff Campbell shares first in scoring in the ECHL. Campbell and Phoenix's Dan Sisca each have 6 points on the year to share first in scoring in the ECHL.

Double Dose: Mike Vigilante and Mike Hamilton share first in goals scored on the Gladiators and in the ECHL. With two goals apiece, they share first in that category in the ECHL with six other players just two days in to the ECHL season.

On the Power Play: The Gladiators high powered power play unit will look to set another new ECHL record for power play goals in a season after posting a league record 120 power play goals last year. Gwinnett currently ranks 4th overall in the ECHL on the power play, converting on 31% of their opportunities but the Gladiators 6 power play goals shares first in that category in the ECHL.

Collecting Games: Jim Jackson played in his 200th career game as a Gwinnett Gladiator on Friday night in Pensacola. Jackson has played three seasons for Gwinnett, 2003-2004, 2004-2005 and 2006-2007. In Jackson's 200 games, he has amassed 100 points on 42 goals and 58 assists to rank first among Gladiators defensemen all time. Jackson posted a career-best 38 points last season, finishing the campaign with 18 goals and 20 assists.

Passing Brownie: Gladiator assistant coach Cam Brown's record for most games played as a Gladiator is in jeopardy and will almost certainly fall within the next month. Jim Jackson stands only 10 games away from tying the record that Brown set over his three seasons with the club in Gwinnett. Brown racked up 97 points notching 43 goals and 54 assists with the Gladiators. Brown is entering his second season as an assistant coach for Gwinnett after ending his playing career following the 2005-2006 season.
