Elmira Jackals News Release
The Elmira Jackals, proud member of the ECHL, debuted in its new league home last weekend and won both contests in picking up four points to sit alone atop the North Division entering the second week of the season. The Jackals ascended to the top spot with division wins over Wheeling and Trenton.

The Jackals made it a successful debut in the ECHL with a 4-2 win over the Nailers at First Arena. Rookie center BENOIT DOUCET netted his first professional regular season goal 5:07 into the game as Elmira would not look back. D TOMAS KUDELKA, reassigned by Ottawa (NHL) to Elmira earlier in the day, struck for the game-winner at 2:35 of the second period when his low drive found the back of the net on the power play for 3-1 advantage.

Elmira made it two in a row as they doubled up the Devils 4-2 in their first ever ECHL road tilt. RW BOBBY ROBINS wired a shot in from an impossible angle for a 3-2 lead on the power play with 5:05 to go in regulation for the game-winner.

The Jackals look to make it three in a row against a North Division foe as the Chiefs visit the Twin Tiers for the first time ever.The game will be the first of nine between the two divisional foes and the first of four here in Elmira. The Jackals do not travel to the Cambria County War Memorial until a 6 p.m. New Year's Eve match. The Chiefs went 1-2-0-0 last week with their lone win coming Sunday at Trenton (4-2).

The Stingrays and Jackals get together for the only time this season as Elmira will take on their first non-division foe of the year. The game will conclude a four-game in five nights northern swing for the Stingrays that includes a pair at Johnstown and one in Wheeling.
