Gladiators Fly By Condors, 3-2 in Overtime

Rick Emmett scored 40 seconds into overtime while Jeff Campbell posted 2 goals and an assist to help the Gladiators past the Bakersfield Condors 3-2 on Friday night at the Rabobank Arena in the Gladiators third game of their five game road trip. Bakersfield broke a scoreless tie just 45 seconds into the second period with a power play goal. Guy Dupuis was able to beat Gladiators netminder Sean Fields with a slapshot from the left wing point that found its way through bodies in front of the net and into the net. Brett Lutes added an assist on the goal for the Condors. Connor James extended the Condors' lead to 2-0 with a goal at 10:52 of the second period. Kevin St. Jacques fed James along the goal line to pick up an assist on the goal. Luis Tremblay also picked up a helper on the goal.

Jeff Campbell got the Gladiators on the board in the third period on the power play. Kevin Doell found Campbell wide open along the goal line to set up the play. Campbell walked right in front of the netminder Davis Parley and ripped a snapshot past the goaltender. Rick Emmett also picked up an assist on the goal for the Gladiators.

Gwinnett tied the game up at 2-2 on Jeff Campbell's second goal of the game. Campbell tallied his 29th goal of the season unassisted as he whacked a bouncing puck past Parley off a face off for the tally.

Rick Emmett posted the game winner 40 seconds into overtime ripping a slapshot over the shoulder of Parley on the power play. Brad Schell and Jeff Campbell set up the play in the Bakersfield zone on the power play to pick up the assists.

Sean Fields helps the Gladiators improve to 34-22-8 on the season making 31 saves in the win. Gwinnett finished 2-for-8 on the power play in the win.
