
Beckford-Tseu & Maiser Reassigned to Worcester (AHL); Chouinard Signed

Peoria, Ill. (March 26, 2005) â Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations Jason Christie announced that rookie left wing Justin Maiser and rookie goaltender Chris Beckford-Tseu have been reassigned to the team's American Hockey League affiliate, the Worcester IceCats, and that the Rivermen have signed free agent goaltender Mathieu Chouinard, who previously played with the Rivermen during the 2002-2003 season.
Maiser, who appeared in one game earlier in the season with Worcester, has 32 points (19g-13a) in 59 games with the Rivermen this season. The 21 year-old had 27 points (11g-16a) in 68 games with Seattle of the Western Hockey League last season. Beckford-Tseu, a 6-3, 220-pound native of Toronto, Ont., has posted a 7-8-2 record in 17 games with Peoria this season, and recorded a .913 save percentage and a 2.57 goals-against average. In one game with Worcester, Beckford-Tseu stopped seven shots to earn a 1.000 save percentage in 29 minutes of action.
Chouinard, who had a record of 12-2-0 in 15 games with the Rivermen during the 2002-03 season, was signed as a free agent after being released by San Diego on March 23 and clearing waivers. In his fifth professional season, the native of Boisbriand, Qc., was 11-9-7 in 32 games with San Diego, posting a .906 save percentage and a goals-against average of 3.01. The 24 year-old also appeared in three games with the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks of the AHL, going 1-1-0 with a .947 save percentage and a 1.57 goals-against average. In 2003-04, Chouinard made his NHL debut with the Los Angeles Kings, stopping two shots in two minutes of game action, and also appeared in the ECHL with the Reading Royals and in the AHL with the Manchester Monarchs.
The Peoria Rivermen, a proud affiliate of the NHL's St. Louis Blues, are a member of the ECHL â The Premier "AA" Hockey League. On Saturday, March 26, Peoria and Wheeling battle for the second game in a row. Game time is 7:00 p.m. The first 2,500 fans will receive a Duffle Bag, courtesy of OSF, St. Francis Medical Center & the Children's Hospital of Illinois.
