Storm Keep Pace In Playoff Race With Win Over Dayton

Dayton, OH – The Dayton Bombers dropped a 3-2 shootout loss to the interstate rival Toledo Storm in front of 4,009 at the Ervin J. Nutter Center Saturday night. Kevin Bergin recorded two assists for the victorious Storm.

The Bombers opened the scoring with a powerplay goal from SCOTT CAMERON at 18:58 of the first period. Just 49 seconds later, P.J. Martin scored a shorthanded goal to tie the game, 1-1.

After a scoreless second period, JANNE JOKILA beat Toledo goaltender Scott Fankhauser to give Dayton a 2-1 lead. The Storm tied the game, 2-2, when Mike James scored at 12:28 of the third period.

In the shootout, Kevin Bergin (Toledo) and Brent Ozarowski (Dayton) exchanged goals in the first round. Doug Andress scored the only other shootout goal, and the Storm won 3-2. It was the 8th win for Toledo in 9 games against Dayton this season.

The Dayton Bombers return to action Wednesday night when they travel to the Toledo Sports Arena to face the Toledo Storm. Audio coverage begins at 7:00 PM at daytonbombers.com.
