
Gladiators fall to Ice Piltos, 4-1

The Pensacola Ice Pilots used two goals less than two minutes apart in the second period to knock off the Gladiators 4-1 on Friday night in front of 3,928 at the Pensacola Civic Center. Jordan Krestanovich gave the Ice Pilots a 1-0 lead half way through the opening period as his shot from the right wing point was knocked down in front of the net fooling Gladiators netminder T.J. Aceti. Cam Keith and Chris St. Jacques moved the puck up ice to pick up the assists on the goal at 9:38 of the opening period. Mike Vigilante tied the game up at one as he ripped a slap shot from the left wing circle that beat Pensacola netminder Frederic Cloutier under his left arm. Peter Flache moved the puck up the ice for the Gladiators to pick up assist on the goal 8 minutes into the second period. Pensacola answered 77 seconds later to regain the lead. Corey Nielson took a centering feed in the high slot and ripped a shot past Aceti as the Gladiators couldn't get set defensively. Aaron Phillips and Dwayne Hay picked up the assists on the Pensacola goal. The Ice Pilots extended their lead less than two minutes later as Ryan Vince found a loose puck in the slot and jammed the puck past Aceti giving the Ice Pilots a 3-1 lead. David Turon and Jade Galbraith added the assists on the goal at 14:58 of the second period. Pensacola extended its lead to 4-1 at the 3:11 mark of the third period as Krestonavich added this second goal of the night. Jason Beckett and St. Jacques added the assists on the Ice Pilots goal. The Gladiators outshot the Ice Pilots 29-26, while Aceti made 23 saves for the Gladiators who fall to 5-2-3 on the season with the loss. Gwinnett was without a penalty in the loss while going 0-for-3 on the power play.
The Gladiators return to action on Wednesday, November 17th when they travel to Louisiana to take on the Ice Gators at 8:05 p.m. Catch all the Play by Play action on WDUN News Talk 550 beginning at 8:00 p.m.
