Trenton Devils News Release

TRENTON, NJ - B.J. Abel's three-point night and Rick Kowalsky's heroics could not prevent the Dayton Bombers from defeating the Trenton Titans 4-3 in a shootout in front 4,911 at Sovereign Bank Arena.

Kowalsky's team-leading fourth goal assisted by Abel with 15.1 seconds left in the third period tied the score at 3-3 and sent the game into overtime.

After a scoreless overtime, Bombers goaltender Andrew Penner stopped all five Titans shooters as Scott Cameron tallied the only goal of the shootout to clinch the victory for Dayton.

It was Tyler Kolarik's goal, however, that got the scoring started just 15 seconds into the first period and gave Dayton a 1-0 lead. Shawn Limpright and Phil Lewandowski also traded goals in the opening frame as the Titans skated into the first intermission trailing 2-1

In the third period, Abel deflected Evan Nielsen's wrist shot to tie the score 2-2 at 3:36. That would not last long as Preston Mizzi's one-timer deflected off a Titans defenseman and across the goal line to once again give Dayton a one-goal lead.

Andrew Allen made 20 saves on 23 shots in suffering his first loss of the season. Abel finished the night with a goal and two assists as he extended his scoring and assist streak to five games.

The Titans travel to Atlantic City to take on the Boardwalk Bullies on Saturday, November 13 at 7:05pm. Tune into 91.3-FM WTSR or go to www.trentontitans.com to listen or watch live.
