Saviano called up

ESTERO, FL – Florida Everblades head coach Gerry Fleming announced today that forward Steve Saviano has been re-called to Lowell of the American Hockey League, and that forward Greg Hornby has been added to the roster.

Saviano skated in one game with Florida against the San Diego Gulls on November 4 after joining the team from the Lock Monsters. Prior to that, the 23-year-old Massachusetts native had seen action in six games with Lowell, picking up one assist.

Hornby, a rookie, will see his first action in an Everblades uniform tonight against the Idaho Steelheads. The 22-year-old begins his professional career after spending the last four seasons at Cornell University. During his senior season, the native of Nanaimo, British Columbia, collected eight points (4g, 4a) in 32 games. Overall, the 5'11" forward skated in 108 games with Cornell, picking up 32 points (14g, 18a).

Florida continues its six-game west coast swing on Friday, November 12 when the team takes on the Idaho Steelheads in the second of three straight games between the teams this week.
