Ice Pilots Announce Emergency Backup Goalie

Pensacola, FL - The Pensacola Ice Pilots announced that Curtis Ryser will be the emergency back-up goalie tonight when the Ice Pilots play the Gwinnett Gladiators at "The Hangar" at 7:05 p.m.

Ryser, who stands 5'11" and weighs 187 pounds, is 20 years old from Loganville, Georgia and played at Syracuse Jr. A last season. Ryser is the emergency back up goalie because of Todd Ford being recalled to St. John's of the AHL this past Tuesday.

The Ice Pilots will play home to the Gwinnett Gladiators tonight at "The Hangar" at 7:05 p.m. The Ice Pilots have a record of 5-1 for 10 points which is good for second place in the South Division and Gwinnett is in first place in the South Division with a record of 5-1-3 for 13 points.

It is "Nextel Cans for a Cause Holiday Food Drive." Fans who bring two non-perishable canned goods to the game will receive three dollars off a ticket. The discount is only good on game day at the Civic Center box office.

The first 1,000 fans who donate canned goods will also receive an Ice Pilots/Nextel megaphone. All non-perishable canned goods will be donated to the Manna Food Partners to help families in need. Also, the U.S. Army will give away hockey pucks to one lucky section during the game and fans will have an opportunity to win turkey's compliments of Albertson's during the intermission.

Fans can purchase individual game tickets in person at the Civic Center box office, at any Ticketmaster location, Charge by Phone at 434-7444 or through the Ice Pilots website at www.icepilots.com. For season tickets, group tickets, birthday parties and corporate sponsorship packages, fans can call the Ice Pilots at 432-7825.
