November 6, 2004 - ECHL (ECHL)
Atlanta Gladiators News Release
After a poor performance last night in front of a sold out crowd at the Arena at Gwinnett Center, the Mississippi Sea Wolves downed the Gwinnett Gladiators 4-1 on Saturday night at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. Mississippi opened the scoring halfway through the first period as Mike Jarmuth's shot from the left wing point was deflected and bounced past Gladiators netminder T.J. Aceti at 10:37 of the first period. Louis Dumont and Anthony Battaglia added the assists on the goal.
Nicholas Corbeil extended the Sea Wolves lead to two goals as he slipped past the Gladiators defense and beat Aceti on a virtual breakaway. Battaglia and Dumont each picked up their second assists of the evening on the tally at 16:39 of the first period.
Kevin Harris cut the Mississippi lead in half with his first goal of the season at 11:36 of the second period with a slap shot from the right wing circle. Peter Flache fed a wide-open Harris in the high slot to set up the goal.
Mississippi regained their two-goal advantage with a power play tally late in the second period. Jeff Hutchins ripped a rebound past Aceti with 1:50 remaining in the middle stanza as Milt Mastad and Bobby Cunningham added the assist on the Sea Wolves goal.
Mississippi tallied the only goal of the third period as Corbeil added his second goal of the evening to push the Sea Wolves lead back to three goals. Battaglia and Dumont again hooked up as they both picked up their third assists of the game.
T.J. Aceti made 37 saves for the Gladiators who drop their first game in regulation this season and fall to 4-1-3 on the year.
