Titans Hand Chiefs 3-2 Loss In Shootout

TRENTON, NJ - The Trenton Titans raised their perfect record to 5-0-0 with a 3-2 shootout win over the Johnstown Chiefs in front of 4,541 at Sovereign Bank Arena.
Brent Kelly gave the Chiefs the 1-0 lead with his first goal of the season coming at 18:20 of the first period.
Nick Deschenes also banged home his first tally of the year to tie the score 1-1 7:02 into the middle period.
Kelly would strike again - this time with a wrister that beat Andrew Allen for his second goal of the night giving the Chiefs a one goal led heading into the third period.
In the final frame, Scott Bertoli put B.J. Abel's face-off win through the five-hole of Chiefs goalie David Currie to make it 2-2.
After a scoreless overtime, Mathieu Brunelle provided the game-wining goal in round 6 of the shout to secure the 3-2 Titans victory.
Allen stopped 41 of 43 shots during regulation and overtime and 5 of 6 during the shootout to raise his record to 4-0-0. Currie made 23 saves suffering his third shooutout loss of the season.
